Before this I was a lab assistant, certified to teach Docker and Kubernetes. Teaching it made me learn it properly, not just memorize commands. I still like sitting between ops and development, keeping things stable, then automating the parts that shouldn’t need a person.
An attraction registration platform for company outings. The booking path is hardened against double-booking three ways: RabbitMQ serialises concurrent joins so capacity is consumed one at a time without database locks, Redis holds an idempotency key per attempt, and a unique constraint backstops both. SignalR pushes live capacity to every open dashboard.
A Twitter-shaped social platform split into eleven Go services over gRPC, each on its own Postgres. The Gin gateway fans out to a WebSocket hub for chat and SSE streams for the timeline and notifications, so nothing on the page polls. A Python service serves a recommendation model trained in the repo’s own notebook.
A campus events platform that connects university students through the events their own university hosts. Go backend on a domain-driven split, with Asynq running everything that should not block a request — reminders, mail, scheduled sweeps — on a Redis-backed queue with its own monitoring UI, and OAuth sign-in so nobody manages another password.
A Wordle clone with a word of the day and a leaderboard behind it. The answer and every guess live server-side in NestJS and Prisma rather than in the browser, so the board survives a refresh, a second tab cannot start the day over, and the standings have something worth trusting.
RUMAN is a web-based app that helps lab assistants manage the computers in their lab. From a single interface, they can shut down, restart, execute custom commands, or wake up every machine at once or only the ones they choose.
Improved an existing AI discussion thread system during my internship by implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), cutting token usage while keeping output quality.
